In conjunction with the Whakahoa Kaitoi Whanaketanga PAK'nSAVE Artist Fellowship, 4 Feet in The Dark is a new work by Tash van Schaardenburg and Ari Kerssens. 4 Feet in the Dark considers the ableist architectures of everyday life alongside the soulful empowerment of embracing the disabled experience, a journey through the breadth of human emotions within the lens of blindness. Alongside the exhibition we hosted a panel on disability and access to the arts with Caitlin Smith, Drew McMillan, Pat Kraus & Becki Moss. This is a recording of that discussion which provides insights into their personal practices and what access for disabled people in the arts looks like; with important lessons for all artists on wellness and sustainability.
